1. Agreement to terms

By downloading, installing, or using HydroVault ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of service

HydroVault is a scuba cylinder maintenance tracking app that helps divers log hydrostatic test dates, visual inspection records, O₂ service history, and related cylinder maintenance events. Inspection interval guidance is derived from DOT (US) and EN 1975/EN 1964 (EU) regulatory standards. The App operates entirely offline and stores all data locally on your device.

3. Equipment safety disclaimer

Read this section carefully.

HydroVault is a record-keeping tool only. It does not perform physical inspections, certify equipment, or replace the judgment of a qualified cylinder inspector or dive professional.

You are solely responsible for:

  • Ensuring all cylinders are inspected and tested by qualified professionals at intervals required by applicable law and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Verifying that inspection intervals displayed by the App are accurate and applicable to your specific cylinders, jurisdiction, and use case.
  • Never using a cylinder solely on the basis of App records — physical inspection by a qualified technician is always required.

Inspection interval guidance in the App is informational and based on publicly available regulatory standards. It may not reflect jurisdiction-specific rules, manufacturer requirements, or recent regulatory changes. Always consult a qualified cylinder inspector or the relevant regulatory authority for binding guidance.

4. Permitted use

You may use the App for personal cylinder record-keeping. You may not: reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App; redistribute or resell the App or its content; use the App in any way that violates applicable law; or present App records as official certification or inspection documentation.

5. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, and content, is the property of scubadeving and is protected by applicable intellectual property law. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the App. Open-source components used in the App are governed by their respective licenses, which are disclosed within the App.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of inspection interval data, or non-infringement. scubadeving does not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that its regulatory data is current or complete.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, scubadeving shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App — including but not limited to personal injury, death, equipment failure, loss of data, or regulatory non-compliance — regardless of the theory of liability and even if scubadeving has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

scubadeving's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.

9. Changes to these terms

scubadeving reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
